A hero`s status in the film industry among other things is defined by box office collections. Although, the number game changes every Friday, we still have a penchant for lifting the heroes` images up. While there are many factors involved in making a successful film, there are literally a handful of films made, that show a protagonist fail in the end. Hero is (always) stronger than the villain. The End.

So, how do filmmakers come up with a basic structure of giving the hero an image that is instantly likeable and relatable? One of them is surely giving the hero a Royal Enfield. Yes, no mistakes there. The hero rides a Royal Enfield. Often the teaser / trailer shows the hero ride an Enfield. The recently released teasers / trailers have one thing in common, as mentioned earlier, it`s the Royal Enfield connection.

What does riding a Royal Enfield mean in the movie? It is more than just an ordinary bike. The Royal Enfield adds heroism to the role an actor is playing. A typical Indian film hero has to be strong-willed, ready to face challenges, and shouldn`t be hurt by the villain`s mischief. The trailer of 'Yennai Arindhaal' shows Ajith ride an Enfield. Likewise Madhavan is seen riding an Enfield in 'Irudhi Suttru' teaser. Varun Tej in Mukunda`s teaser enters with his Enfield and so does Sivakarthikeyan in the 'Kakki Sattai' motion poster. Seems like Royal Enfield has become an indispensable tool in Indian films. All these heroes have battles to win in their respective films.

In a sense, the bike is a symbol of force the heroes need to have to show that they can defeat the villains, and that they are above them. It`s also a symbol of the higher class the heroes come from. Altogether, Enfield does a lot in enhancing the image of the actor.

Off-screen, too, many prefer Enfield. Don`t you?
