Over the last few days, the Press Trust of India has come to be seen as anti-BJP by sections of right-wing commentators as well as neutral observers on social media. Distorted presentation of government handouts, deliberate or reckless misquoting, etc have been attributed to the news agency.

Anand Ranganathan, a noted journalist-scientist, has presented an excellent juxtaposition of how the PTI reports fall in Sensex when it's UPA and NDA ruling the nation.

"Under NDA Sensex mostly Tanks, Plummets, Nosedives. Under UPA Sensex mostly Dropped, Ended down, Closed lower even when by a bigger margin," he tweeted, presenting the screenshots of PTI's tweets from the years 2013 and present.

In another analysis, he says, "Feb, 2014: 20,000. Aug, 2017: 31,000. PTI headline: 'Sensex growth crawls, wiggles, inches forward by as little as 50% under Modi'."

It's interesting how public perceptions are managed by the use of adjectives.
