When Aamir Khan initiated a drive for collecting funds for the flood victims of Uttarakhand, the industry joined in to show its support. He started off with his own donation of Rs. 25 lakh and sources say that Hrithik Roshan has also contributed the same amount.

Heard that when Hrithik got to know about Aamir’s initiative, he immediately sent a cheque to Aamir. Interestingly, Hrithik made sure that the cheque reached Aamir a day before he went in for his brain surgery. Since he couldn’t go personally he sent his secretary, Ashok Vashodia, on the sets of ‘Dhoom: 3’ (where Aamir was shooting) with instructions to hand over the cheque only to Aamir and no one else.

When contacted, Hrithik confirms this news, "One must do what one can to help others in need. It must become part of your belief system and must start at home. Also I believe one must talk about his charities. The old belief of ‘self-glorification’ giving and not talking about it does not serve the higher purpose of teaching people to give and propagating the ideal. We must set examples so that others may follow. Among all the negatives in the world, the positives must not go unnoticed. My thanks to Aamir for initiating this effort."

Hrithik last week underwent a minor surgery following a small blood clot in the brain. The operation turned out to be successful and the star is reported to be doing fine.
