"Please don't drag me into the number game. I don’t want to be the number one star of Tamil cinema by repeatedly playing action roles. I would like to do different films and a variety of characters," says Vikram.

With just two days left for the release of 'Deiva Thirumagal', in which he had plays the role of an adult with the mental growth of a five-year-old, Vikram says, "I may not be the first. But I consider myself the best."

"When I play action roles like 'Dhool' and 'Saami', only youngsters would come to cinema halls to see me. But films like 'Deiva Thirumagal' would bring the entire family to theatres. That's why I am picking such roles," he says.

Vikram also says that he did not find scripts as racy as 'Dhool' and 'Saami' in the recent past. "This is another reason behind accepting challenging films like 'Deiva Thirumagal'," the actor, who is currently busy with 'Rajapattai' and 'Karikalan', says.
