‘Nanban’ has been declared a hit by the trade gurus and a number game is on already guessing the box-office collections of the film. Being a boost to this was the entertainment tax waiver for the film by state government, meaning more collections than ever!

Only yesterday, IG had reported that Vijay had a private success party with the cast and crew of ‘Nanban’ to celebrate the success of the film. Last evening, Vijay met the press to share his happiness for the response of ‘Nanban’ and battled away the questions posed by the media to him about the film.

When asked of how ‘Nanban’ happened and why a script that does away from ‘heroism’ Vijay reasoned out, “I longed to watch myself differently on screen but I wasn’t approached with an apt script. But when 3 Idiots script along with Shankar was offered I immediately took it up. Speaking about heroism, this film has the factor more than any other if you notice the character well”.

Watch as he speaks on his on-screen kiss with Ileana, the climax scene where his co-stars bash him for not staying in touch, his son’s reaction after watching the film, how SAC wanted Vijay to become a doctor, and various other aspects of the film.

When asked of the what the reaction was from the original ‘3 Idiots’ team, pat comes the reply from the star, “Only yesterday I attended the Telugu audio launch of Nanban (Snehithudu) where I met Raju Hirani and Sharman Joshi. Raju was all praises for Nanban and expressed that although he didn’t understand all the Tamil dialogues he got the emotions right at the required scenes. He also said that the Tamil version’s music was even better than the Hindi one”.

‘Nanban’, a Pongal release, is running to packed theatres and doing good business worldwide.
