Brahmanandam had been thru several phases of his acting career, faced challenges, competition but never did he face the tough challenge as he did with his son Raja Gautham who's been struggling to set his bumpy ride smooth. Introduced by Raghavendra Rao in 'Pallakilo Pellikuturu' about a decade ago, Gautham has appeared in a couple of films later but hasn't lived upto the expectations his father has set for his fans about his son.

Basanti is different says the father-son duo and vouch that its his best work as yet says Dad Brahmanandam. For the first time in his son’s or his own career, the ace comedian goes all out to promote the film pre-release stage bringing the stalwarts of TFI to talk about the film and his son, so much so that people speculated that he was the co-producer of the film.

In a pressmeet on the eve of the release of Gautham’s next film, a Chaitanya Danthuluri’s directorial in his own production, Brahmanandam talks about the film, his son’s maturity in acting, the music in all the good words he has to decorate the team’s efforts.

Excerpts from the pressmeet....

Great Script To Start With...

Chaitanya has written a great script and made a wonderful movie out of it. Mani Sharma, the legendary composer composed the music and says its one of his best so far. Gautham, my son has done a splendid job as an actor.

Ordinary Hero...

Hero in the film is an ordinary middle class boy with average student’s emotions who loves his college, the campus, classrooms and colleagues. This film enters the shoes of that student, tries to take the audience on a journey of his emotions, pleasures and thoughts at the same time provoking the young generation for a thought in the end. Its not just an entertaining film but a responsible film as well.

Gautham Had To Be Normal Looking...

It’s the story of a common student from a middle class family going thru the phases of love, studies, family emotions etc but reacts wildly to an extraordinary situation. So, when I asked Chaitanya about Gautham’s looks, whether he had to shape up his body etc, he said ‘No, let him be as normal as he can be’

He Is Just A Kid...

When Gautham did ‘Pallakilo Pellikuthuru’ directed by Suchitra at the age of 18, he was immature and it was quite evident on screen. This film will work as a great re-launch pad for him I am sure. I always wanted him to be known as an actor with ability to do all genres of film.

Experimental Film, No...

No, this movie is not an experiment. The film has all the commercial ingredients such as Love, Comedy, Action and Music all entwined in a beautiful story. Go watch it..

I Didn’t Act In The Film Coz...

Chaitanya said if I act, the father and son sharing screen space will dominate the actual story and will spoil the run of the film. I agreed then and I agreed now after watching the film that he was true to letter.

Thank You Guys...

I bow my head to all the heroes that participated in the film promotion, spoke good words about the film, about my son Gautham and helped the film gain momentum in the prerelease stage. I felt it was the most minimum help I could have done to the producers of the film who chose my son as their hero.

Clear Headed...

Chaitanya has such a clarity on the subject that he defined the whole film, the story and all its shades in just the logo design and the two minute trailer design.
