'Idavappathy' stalled

Bollywood star Monisha Koirala is reported to be passing through a rough patch in her personal life, and so are her films in Malayalam. Manisha’s first movie in Mollywood was an ambitious 'Electra' by Shyamaprasad. Though the movie is still waiting in the cans after completion for more than one year, it is yet to be received in theatres. The movie is currently trying to locate film festivals to get screened.

And when Monisha opted for her second in Lenin Rajendran's 'Idavapathy', the news is that the shoot for the movie is stalled due to problems with its locations. Featuring Manisha, Amritha Praksah and Siddhartha lama (The Golden child of 'Yoddha') in the lead, the 'Idavappathi' will tell the relationship between a Buddhist monk and an young girl.

'Idavappathy' which was scheduled to start by now was expected to have Chitradurga fort as one of its important locations. But the site under national Archives of India was not allotted to the filmmaker Lenin Rajendran for shooting. Though the authorities were willing to grant the crew permission, the conditions followed were not to bring technical gadgets including cranes and trolley tracks. The latest news is that the movie will get late and may start its shoot only by the 20th of this month.
