Actors Vishal and Silambarsan who fought fiercely from opposite sides on the run up for the Nadigar Sangam elections is heading for another clash, this time at the box-office. It seems that Silamabarasan's 'idhu Namma Aalu' and Vishal's 'Kathakali' may release on the same day. Interestingly, both the films have been directed by Pandiraj and it this happens it will be an extremely rare phenomenon happening in a filmmaker's career in Kollywood.

Vishal and Pandiraj who have jointly produced 'Kathakali' have announced that the film will release for Pongal 2016. The film stars Vishal and Catherine Thresa in lead roles and touted to be an action thriller.

Now Silamabarsan-Nayanthara starrer romantic-comedy which was supposed to release in December 2015 has now been postponed to Pongal. The film has been produced by Simbu's father T.Rajendar.

Pandiraj has not ruled out the possibility of his two films releasing on the same day and he is not apprehensive that the fortunes or either or both the films may be affected. Instead, he is kicked about this development as he firmly believes that the content of both the films will strike the right chord with the audience.
