A day since the announcement of 'Paheli' being India's nomination for Oscars, it is loud and clear that Black its closest competitor. There have murmurs in the industry circles that the movie lost out due to the language factor as around 70-80% of 'Black' was in English.

Nevertheless it’s still a happy moment for both Big B and Rani Mukherjee, especially the latter as she plays a lead role in both Paheli and Black. Some consolation for Amitabh Bachchan as well as he played a small role in Paheli too.

The only looser in this case seems to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali who would be definitely regretting on missing out on competing on the big stage!
