As we reported earlier the Kerala Film Exhibitor`s Federation`s decision to shut down theaters affiliated to them is causing a lot of doubt over the wide release of Ilayathalapathy Vijay`s Bairavaa`. The film was procured for a huge price by the Kerala distributors who are sure to face heavy losses if the film is not released as planned in all the theaters.

The Kerala distributors of Bairavaa`, IFAR International and Sayujam Cine Release have decided to go for legal remedy under the India Competition Act 2002 demanding the Federation to either screen the film or pay compensation for the loss. It may be recalled that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan was the one who showed the entertainment industry the existence of the act when he filed under it against the TN Film exhibitors who threatened the same to him during the release of Vishwaroopam` in 2013.
