Ali is miffed with the behavior of cops at the valedictory function of the Nandi Awards for Theatre Arts in Rajahmundry on Sunday. Apparently, the actor took the MLA and Ministers route to enter the function hall and reach the dais, but the policemen stopped and asked him to take the other way. Ali was deeply hurt by this act and picked up an argument with the police. The matter was finally brought to the notice of Rajamundry MP Murali Mohan, who even publicity apologized the comic actor for what happened.

Responding to this, a visibly annoyed Ali said, “People might not recognize Ambani if he walks on the road but if Ali walks on the streets anywhere in the world, people do recognize. I want the cops to realize that because I`m not entering other state, I`m in Rajahmundry – my native place and what value are these people giving me.”

Venting out his anger further, Ali said, “I came to the function only because of the regards I have for Murali Mohan, leaving beside my several commitments. My flight was delayed but still I came by road to attend the function. I`m paid 2 lakhs per day but I came here forgoing that only because this is an artistes function.”
