Imran Khan has very good reasons to rejoice. His 'Delhi Belly' is now not just a huge hit, it is also all set to cross the collections of his first hit (and biggest money spinner) till date - 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa'. While the Abbas Tyrewala film had ended it's run at around 57 crores mark, Abhinay Deo's 'Delhi Belly' should manage to surpass this mark.

At the end of it's first week run, 'Delhi Belly' has already collected over 36 crores and is still counting. The film, after a bumper opening, managed to sustain very well right through it's first week hence ensuring that moolah was generated on a consistent note. Many were apprehensive that the film would fall sooner or later but none of that happened as the buzz never died down for this whacky comic thriller. In fact the word of mouth amongst young was so positive for this Hinglish outing that all that one heard from film buffs was 'Delhi Belly' and nothing else. No wonder, the film also enjoyed some (a rare) repeat audience.

Coming back to the collections of 'Jaane Tu...' being surpassed, as and when that happens, 'Delhi Belly' would also turn out to be the second biggest accumulator of the year after 'Ready'. This is because 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' had breathed it's last at the 55 crores mark, a total that 'Delhi Belly' should comfortably surpass.

On the other hand 'Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap' has emerged as a disappointment with nothing really working for it. After a non- happening weekend, there wasn't much to cheer about over the weekdays either with the film setting down at close to 10 crores week. This is in the same range as far lesser hyped and similarly mounted films like 'Chalo Dilli' and 'Bheja Fry 2'. Both these films had settled as coverage affair and this is the maximum that the Amitabh Bachchan starrer would have to take solace from.

Of course the makers have all the right (and valid too) reasons to argue that they had all their ends covered from commercial standpoint and everyone involved could eventually make money. However the fact remains that from audience perception perspective, the film has flopped since there weren't many who stepped into the film. The word of mouth wasn't anything terrific either which means the second weekend saw further fall for the film.

All said and done, Amitabh Bachchan would now be looking at a far more conventional 'Aarakshan' to leave 'Bbuddah....' past him.
