Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar who made her Mollywood debut with the Mammootty starrer entertainer Kasaba, has signed her next Mollywood movie. Titled Aakasha Mittayee, the upcoming movie is the remake of Samuthirakani's Tamil directorial Appa.

The actress, who was supposed to play Jayaram's wife in the film, has reportedly had a tiff with the movie's producers as she couldn't want to work under the conditions the producers specified.

Meanwhile, the film's producer Sudev, says that Varalaxmi didn't fit the character and so they had to drop her. As the team wanted a chubbier actress, they cast Varalaxmi by keeping her Kasaba character in mind. But the actress had apparently trimmed down considerably now, which the team was unaware as they had not seen her in the last two months.

This has lead the team to drop her from the movie. However, Sudev brushed off the rumours and clarified that there is no tiff between them. He also revealed that the team have chose Ineya to replace Varalaxmi's role.

This upcoming family drama which will also be directed by Samuthirakani, will feature Jayaram and Ineya as a married couple. The movie, which also has Kalabhavan Shajohn in a pivotal role, is curretnly being shot in Kochi.
