Promos of 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' are on and while one waits to see how exactly have Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan approached their characters here, there is a slight apprehension that if at the end of it all, the film would end up following a quintessential romcom template a la 'I Hate Luv Storys' or an 'Anjaana Anjaani'.

"Well, we are definitely not running to the airport for the film's climax," laughs Karan, "'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' has its own setting, music and the characters. It has his lovely dialogues but then it is not a laughathon. If at all I have to assign a term here, that would be 'smileathon'; you would have a smile on your face throughout the film. It is not just a romcom where you watch it and then forget. It is much more than that in the way it has been so credibly made by a first timer like Shakun Batra. This is a coming of age film that you would take home."

To bring on this 'coming of age' mood and feel to the film; was a conscious call on the part of the makers to create an unusual pairing? After all, for Imran too it is quite a shift to work with Kareena after rubbing shoulders with Katrina Kaif, Poorna Jagannath, Shenaz Treasurywala, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor in recent times.

"For our production house it is not very unusual. Weren't Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen sharma paired opposite each other in 'Wake Up Sid'? Once in a while it is interesting to see unconventional pairing on screen," smiles Karan.

Now that's something we would know once we watch the film on 10th February.
