Director Cheran who broke ground in Tamil films as director with his 'Barathi Kannamma' in 1997 has given us some great films which tug at our hearts and are timeless. The director now seems to be concentrating more on being before the camera than behind. His last film that released under his direction was 'Pokkisham' which saw him share screen space with Padmapriya.

The director last appeared in a tough and rugged cop story directed by Mysskin titled 'Yudham Sei' which was received well at the box-office. The role that Cheran portrayed as a police officer was a perfect foil for him. Cheran is now playing an important character in debutant Rajjan Madhav directed 'Muran.' Prasanna will also play a prominent role in this action thriller film.

There are now reports that Cheran is about to sign one more film, the talks for which are going on. This time around director Nagulan Ponnuswamy seems to have approached Cheran for roping the latter in his upcoming yet-to-be-titled film. Though nothing has been declared officially yet, Cheran is having a round of talks with Nagulan.

Nagulan is believed to finalize the other cast for this film once he gets a thumbs-up from Cheran, say sources close to the director.
