It’s been only couple of days since ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ made its public appearance in cinema houses and it has already set ample space for several grapevines, adding more to the pre-release rumours.

The movie had already grabbed the headlines for being a remake of a Tamil movie, ‘Pammal K Sambandham’, which starred Kamal Haasan and Simran. But, though the stories are similar, both the movies are portrayed in different manner. When the news reached the Hindi version makers, they went out to get the original movie’s rights. Says the director of the movie, Sabbir Khan, “Once you’re aware of your film bearing similarities to an earlier work, it’s better to honour someone’s intellectual property than be accused of copying it.” He says that there is nothing wrong in adapting other’s movie to suit one’s regional flavour. Besides, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ has been approached by an international agency to acquire its rights.

Hmmm, ‘Inspiring’ Story?
