Since the day when Tamil Cinema embraced and welcomed him as a kid, it has been a long journey for the multi-talented actor to reach the place where he is today. Going rear 50 years down the time, 12th August is the day he entered as a child artist in the film ‘Kalathur Kannamma’. For our senior citizens it will look as if he is still the same lean, innocent looking boy with a fire of aspiration in his eyes. His achievements, in every turf of cinema he gets in, are worth of appreciation, praise and are worth given an illustration. Now he is a Living Legend of the Indian Film Industry and had plans of releasing his latest venture ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’ on 12th August to mark his 50th year in cinema.

His trajectory in the Indian film industry is one prototypical journey, where he started as a child artist, then continued as a romantic hero, and finally evolved into one of the best multifaceted actors Indian Cinema has ever produced. Let it be the Chappani character of ‘16 Vayathiniley’ or the psychopath of ‘Sigappu Rojakkal’ he had done a wide array of versatile performances. We witness Kamal as an actor of class, resourcefulness and perfectionist who gave life for all the roles he stepped into - from hero to villain, man to woman and a dwarf. Today, he is at a point where no one could reach him at all. Off track we have also seen him occasionally working through the commercial roles may be to finance the movies he wanted to produce with his heart. But we do recognize that the movies that resulted out of his artistic potential were in a class apart.

He has satisfied the film critics and his fans at the same time all the way through his career, which is off-course filled with roses and thorns. His filmography filled with achievements and accolades is still getting sophisticated with his thirst to learn more. Apart from his involvement in acting he has also got a great hunger for something else, which many actors don’t talk much about. Yes, he is an actor who gives more credence to the script of his films. In order to fulfill his thirst and to publicize the importance of script-writing, he had recently organized a workshop in association with IIT Madras.

Latest of his delivery ‘Dasavatharam’ also proved his commitment to cinema, playing ten roles. As we all know following the sensation of ‘Dasavatharam’ he is producing and starring in the speedy project, titled ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’, co-starring with him is Malayalam super star Mohanlal. Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruthi is the music composer of ‘Unnaipol Oruvan’. Without forgetting the day on which our Ulaga Nayagan entered the filmdom is fast approaching, fans requested the star to release Unnaipol Oruvan on the same day.

Now, keeping the sentimental aspect of the release date away we also have another valid point to look on. That is the film has a chance to dominate the theaters for more days as it is the Independence Day weekend. But then, came the news as a wave of disappointment for the fans of Kamal saying that the release date of the movie is still unconfirmed. But does that mean our Ulaganayagan will keep his fans inactive on that very special day? Off course not! A birdie twitters that a big plan is running to celebrate the Golden Jubilee in a grand manner by inviting all the big-wigs of Indian film Industry to Chennai. The list of the invitees includes Big B, Shah Ruk Khan, Mammooty and every big name. With so much of anticipation for that big day, we just can’t wait to see it turn to be a great show. Don’t you wish to know more on this extravaganza? Then just get back for more on it!
