Choreographer turned actor turned director Lawrence Raghavendra's debut directorial venture in Telugu titled Mass starring Nagarjuna in the lead role was a huge hit.

Reports had it that the movie would be remade in Tamil by Lawrence featuring a prominent hero. However denying the reports, Lawrence commenced the shooting of his next Style in Telugu featuring himself and Prabhu Deva in the lead roles.

Instead of a remake, now Mass would be dubbed and released in Tamil. Titled Veeran, the movie featuring Jyothika opposite Nags would be released after Deepavali.
