Actors Vijay and Vishal witnessed a stiff contest at the box office this Pongal with their Pokkiri and Thamirabarani hitting the screens. With a boy-next door look, Vishal emerged a sought-after hero last year with back-to-back hits in Sandai Kozhi, Thimiru and Sivapathikaram.

A section of press even touted Vishal to be the immediate successor of Vijay.

Now two prominent channels are airing Vishal and Vijay's films respectively for the Republic day.

Vishal's blockbuster Sandai Kozhi which features Meera Jasmine opposite him and Vijay's hilarious entertainer, Vasseegara which features Sneha as his lady love are telecasted.
