Jaan-E-Mann

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Hindi Comments

Sajid Nadiadwala - the name that spells blockbuster films. Rated as one of the best entrepreneur film maker that Bollywood has seen in recent years, he has marched his way to the top bracket of film makers inspite of being an independent producer. No wonder the films carrying his name are known as a Sajid Nadiadwala film more than anything else.

After a hit outing in 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', the successful trio of Sajid, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are back with 'Jaan-E-Mann', a much hyped product since the day of its launch. A romantic film shot as a Broadway musical, 'Jaan-E-Mann' is touted to carry a hefty 35 crore budget and has been sold at a record price for number of territories. Arriving this Diwali/Eid, the film has created great curiosity since the time its innovative promo [shot with a multi-lakh budget] has been on air.

Come....let's explore Jaan-E-Mann...and find out whom does Preity Zinta, the center of all the attraction gives her heart to!

Jaan-E-Mann is about the times when 2 young men loved a girl.

Who were these two men? They were Suhaan Kapoor [Salman Khan] and Agastya Rao [Akshay Kumar].

Suhaan was an extrovert who loved to talk; Agastya was someone opposite who could hardly talk, even if it came to letting his feelings known to his lady love.
Suhaan was a cool dude; Agastya was a nerd, a geek, someone who was the perfect definition of boredom.
Suhaan was a rock singer who wanted to be a star, Agastya believed in the power of love.
Suhaan was a guy with dreams in his eyes, Agastya was happy with his world of space.

Even in terms of appearance, both Suhaan and Agastya were poles apart. Suhaan kept a long haired look; Agastya had the look of a geek and looked unintentionally funny in his bespectacled avtar.

They both were in love with a lovely girl by the name of Piya Goyal [Preity Zinta] who was a lethal mix of beauty and brains. A strong hearted female with a rich background, there was certain vulnerability about her that made her special.

10 years passed by and the three met again!

Not much had changes since then except for a few appearances. While Suhaan was still living in his dream world, Agastya now lived in space while Piya, suffering from heartache, was now living all alone.

But there are going to be happy times again. And they will fall in love once again. To utter the divine word - Jaan-E-Mann!

Also starring Anupam Kher in the role of a dwarf as 'Vakil Chachu' and Soni Razdan, 'Jaan-E-Mann' is the directorial debut of editor Shirish Kunder who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film. Farah Khan is the choreographer for the songs set to tune by Anu Malik and written by Gulzar saab. Sabu Cyril is the man entrusted with the responsibility of setting up the extravagant sets.

Come, have some cool time this Diwali/Eid as 'Jaan-E-Mann' releases all over with record prints on October 20th.
