This is not the first time that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the strongest politician of Andhra Pradesh after its Chief Minister, has been said to be mooting the idea of joining forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

But this time, the speculation is coming from Republic TV, the top news channel perceived to be pro-BJP and also authentic (?) about its 'sources'.

Gali Janardhan Reddy, the crest-fallen politician, is said to be effecting Jagan's saffronization. The YSRCP leader, who has a massive mass following in AP, thanks to his legacy (he is the son of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, one of the most charismatic CMs the then united Andhra ever saw), has allegedly met three NDA Ministers so far regarding the impending alliance.

Call it laughable gossip or genuine news, the Jagan-joining-hands-with-BJP theory has divided several BJP supporters. Note that several Hindutva supporters of the Sangh see Jagan's father (and therefore, the son too) as anti-Hindu. They are frothing at the mouth on social media today. On the other hand, a large section of the party's fans is already congratulating Amit Shah for attempting the masterstroke.

If this turns out to be true, which is highly far-fetched at this juncture, Telugu politics will never be the same again.
