Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar’s most anticipated and hyped movie ‘Jail’ has passed the acid test with few compromises.

Although the movie impressed the Censor Board members they were not ready to leave it uncut. Sources revealed that the CB slashed seven scenes, including a love-making scene between Neil and Mugdha Godse, a homosexual scene, a sex joke and Neil’s nude scene. They asked the director to further blur Neil’s already blurred nude scene. The abusive dialogues have also been deleted. “While Madhur was unwilling to concede a bit, he was also not ready to release the film with an A certificate,” added the sources.

It is said that the director had tried to reason it out wit the Board authorities but ultimately accepted the U/A certificate as he want everyone to see the film. Madhur said, “It is an eye opener and a hard-hitting film which reflects the judiciary system of our country.”

Whereas an Officer from the Censor Board stated, “If it is an A certificate film, we are very liberal, but otherwise we have to be strict. We loved the film. It was impressive and well researched. It surely is a thought provoking film but we have to go by the rule book and that’s what we did.”

Neil-Mugdha starrer ‘Jail’ is slated to open on 6th November.
