It is a universal fact that the most unselfish relationship amongst all is that of a mother and her child. 'Janani' takes a viewer through one such story about motherhood and sacrifices.

'Janani' tells the story of two women Urmila [Ayesha Jhulka] and Akanksha [Bhagyashree]. Urmila was the owner of a toy manufacturing company while her husband Raj [Mohnish Behl] dealt with real estate. They had all the wealth, luxury and happiness in the world except for one - Urmila couldn't bear a child due to some medical complications. On the other hand Akanksha was Urmila's assistant and was happily married to Tarun [Aman Verma]. She had something that Urmila didn't -have a lovely child Rahul [Master Smith Shah], who was the apple of their eyes.

Akanksha and Urmila were quite close to each other and shared a relationship that was not just restricted to that of an employee or an employer but that of trust, respect and mutual togetherness. This is the reason why Urmila and Raj came forward to help Akanksha when Rahul was diagnosed with brain tumor. Since Akanksha and Taru were not in a position to pay for the medical bills, Urmila and Raj whole heartedly supported them and gave them all the help they needed.

And now it was payback time for Akanksha!

Because soon on realizing Urmila's plight, she decided to make an ultimate sacrifice! A sacrifice that would take away motherhood from someone but gift it to someone else.

She approached Urmila with the most precious thing she possessed, her only child Rahul, and vanished from the city forever.

For Urmila and Raj, Rahul completed their world. Because now they had something with them that no wealth in the entire world could ever buy for them!

Years passed by and Rahul turned into a charming young man [Vineet Raina]. His young heart fell for an equally charming and beautiful girl Neha [Sonica Handa]. Sparks flew from the other end too and in no time the two realized their love for each other.

When Rahul told his parents about his choice, they had no objections whatsoever about it. And why would they have? Afterall Rahul was their only son and they had imparted in him the best virtues and values. They trusted their son's judgment and agreed to meet Neha's parents.

But was it the beginning of a volcano of emotions to be erupted?

Because soon on realizing the identity of Neha's parents, Urmila and Raj backed out from the relationship. Putting their foot down, they made Rahul clear in no uncertain terms that this marriage was not possible.

But why? Why were Raj and Urmila so much against this relationship? Was it because of the social status of Neha's parents? Was it because Neha didn't suit the bill for an ideal daughter-in-law? Or was it something else?

Why were Rahul and Neha not being allowed to be united forever? What is the secret that is not being unveiled to them? And when that is eventually done, what catastrophe will strike the two?

A story with enough twists and turns to keep you hooked on the screen before reaching an unprecedented and unexpected climax, 'Janani' is a Chander Behl directed film with story, screenplay and dialogues by Mohan Azaad. The film releases all over this Friday i.e. October 6th.
