Noted writer, director and Professor Baraguru Ramachandrappa lashed out at the irresponsible film makers who spoil the rich and valuable folk literature while using it in films. He advised the music director and director of Kannada films not to spoil the lyrical value of folk songs. By keeping the first two lines and changing the next paragraphs to their whims and fancies the folk songs are tampered. This is a disgrace to folk songs of Karnataka felt Baraguru in his address after the audio release of his latest film 'Janapada' at Green House restaurant.

The veteran folk singer Burra Katha specialist Dharoji Yeeramma released the 'Janapada' audio cassette and CD at a very well attended audio release function. Bararugu has picked four original folk songs and written two more for the music direction of Hamsalekha. There is nothing wrong in giving new tunes to folk songs so that it can reach wider audience said Baraguru in his address.

Folk singer Yeeramma and Raghavendra Rajkumar were honored on this occasion. Lahari Recording Company is releasing this album to the market.

Panju Poojari is the producer of this off beat Kannada cinema. Raghav and Radhika play the lead roles.
