"First time in the history of World Cinema a box office disaster gets a second part," says Jayasurya

Ever since Jayasurya's character Shaji Pappan of 'Aadu Oru Bheegara Jeevi Aanu' impressed the masses, the demand for a sequel to the film has been appearing online for a while, and now, the movie is becoming a reality. The non-brainy comedy entertainer which became a torrent hit after being crushed at the box office is one of the most - anticipated movies of recent times.

Talking in a recent interview on why the team chose to go for the second part, actor Jayasurya who handled the lead role says that his character Shaji Pappan had an overwhelming welcome among the audiences asking for a sequel. “It might be for the first time in the history of World Cinema where a box office disaster gets the second part," quoted Jayasurya in a recent interview to a popular entertainment portal.

According to the actor, people of all age groups call him Shaji Pappan after the movie became a torrent hit. The actor also shared an incident when college students hired the theatres to conduct special screenings of Aadu, which holds the record of most number of CDs being sold.

Jayasurya also added that he happened to see kids and priest dance as Shaji Pappan, and even display big portraits of the character at several public places even after the movie was a box-office flop. "I understood that people are eagerly waiting to see Shaji Pappan again. It ended with the thought of making the second part,” said the elated actor.

Like the prequel, Aadu 2 will also be an action packed non-brainy comedy entertainer. Produced by Vijay Babu's Friday Films, 'Aadu 2' will have an ensemble cast including the stars of its prequel. Music is by Shaan Rahman. The release date of 'Aadu 2', the much-awaited sequel of 'Aadu Oru Bheegara Jeevi' Aanu, has been announced even before its shoot. To be directed by Midhun Manuel, who had directed the prequel too, 'Aadu 2' will hit the big screens on 2017 Christmas.
