Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai Review

Expectations

Manjari Fadnis started her career way back in 2004 and finally got her recognition in 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'. Even after the super success of JTYJN, Manjari failed to create her impact in the film industry.

Though, she had her shares of hits in the form of films like 'Grand Masti' and 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon', but nothing to her potential. Finally, she gets a film showcased around her in the form of 'Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai'. But, lack of big names failed to create any curiosity and expectations related to this film.

Story

'Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai' is a story of Alia (Manjari Fadnis), who has to sacrifice all her happiness and pay a price of being a girl child. These incidents make Alia independent and based on her merits, she makes up into the top college. She falls in love with her fellow classmate Alex (Himansh Kohli).

In order to complete a college magazine article, Alia interviews Kunwar Vikram Pratap Singh (Ashutosh Rana). Vikram falls for Alia’s beauty and pressurizes her parents to get her married to him. After marriage Alia goes through personal and physical torture and is supported by one of the head servant Laxmi (Supriya Pathak). One day Alia comes to know that Vikram has decided to abort her girl child and this motivates Alia to elope away from there. Pregnant Alia reaches Mumbai and start leading a new life.

The 'Glitz' Factor

The subject seems interesting and has a good amount of situations and drama required for such films. The only good scenes in the movie are the ones featuring Ashutosh Rana and Suprika Pathak.

The cinematography is good and has been shot on some lavish locations. Couple of songs are melodious.

Manjari Fadnis looks beautiful and has a role of her lifetime. Ashutosh Rana does his part with total conviction. Supriya Pathak is good in her role.

The 'Non-Glitz' Factor

The whole struggle and hardship resembles all such films from the 70's and 80's era. Right since its first scene the movie is full of long scenes and too much of melodrama. Every scene has been stretched to the fullest with total verbose style of dialogues. None of the situations or the dialogues seem real and fails to connect with its viewers.

The romantic track between Himansh and Manjari is forcefully sugar coated. All the side tracks are waste of time and screen length. The dialogues are bookish and outdated. The makers have taken loads of cinematic liberties and presented the film in illogical manner. Editing is terrible and screenplay is lethargic. Background music is jarring.

Director Keshav Panneriy manages to deliver a highly boring and outdated film. Arbaaz Khan looks huge and acts badly in every scene. He is total fake and lethargic. Himansh Kohli has hardly anything to offer.Prem Chopra gives Urdu lessons in the film. Rati Agnihotri and Raju Kher are wasted.

Final 'Glitz'

'Jeena Isi Ka Naam  Hai' is a lifeless film made only to fill the pockets of the actors and technicians involved in the film.
