Everyone knows that Vikatan group, one of the leading groups in Tamil media, is entering in film production. It has decided to give a chance to Rajesh, a new face, to direct the film. Rajesh has the experience of working as an assiatant director of S.A. Chandrasekar.

The group has also got roped in young actor Jeeva to don the lead role in the venture.

The company doesn’t seem to add its name as one of the usual production houses. It has shown keenness to make a difference by making quality products. B. Sreenivasan, MD of Vikatan Group has personally heard the stories from 24 aspirants. After critically analyzing all the stories, the company has selected Rajesh’s story.

Jeeva, who is now in Malaysia, will go on a trip to various places with his wife Supriya. This will be the honeymoon trip for the young couple. Jeeva will celebrate his birthday (on Jan 4) in a foreign country. He will be back in Chennai by the first week of January.

It is worth recalling that S.S. Vaasan, the founder of Ananda Vikatan magazine in 1928, was one of the distinguished producers and directors of Tamil cinema. He entered into filmmaking in 1940s. Soon he and his Gemini Studio in Madras were household names and also part and parcel of the cultural scene of South India. ‘Chandralekha’, (1948, Tamil and Hindi) was Vasan's first directorial venture after being producer for seven successful years. The film, marked by its amazing grandeur, is considered to be his finest work. He was in fact hailed as `the Cecil B. de Mille of India.'

We can expect Vikatan group to recreate the magic of its founder in tinsel town with its meticulous efforts.
