'Director 'Jeyam Raja who has changed his name as Mohan Raja (add in his father, famous editor and producer Mohan's name) and is back after a long gap. Though his last directorial 'Velayudham' was a super hit, he was in no hurry to start his next film. He started directing his next film 'Thani Oruvan' only last year and is now almost done with.

'Thani Oruvan' is Raja's sixth film with his younger brother Jeyam Ravi as hero. This brother duo has delivered successful and appreciated films like 'Jeyam', 'M.Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi' 'Unakkum Enakkum' and 'Santhosh Subramaniam'.

'Thani Oruvan' is also marks the first time pairing up of Ravi and Nayanthara though both of them have been in the industry for more than a decade. The film also stars Aravind Swami, Ganesh Venkatraman, Nasser and Thambi Ramiah in important roles.

The story of the film is about the struggle between good and evil and is expected to have a lot of twists and turns. Dialogues written by writer duo Suba and Raja is said to be a bi plus.

The film, which has been shot in locations like Deharadun, Masoori, Goa and Bangkok has been produced on a hue scale by AGS Entertainments. Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi has rendered music and Ramji has shot this film with using film rolls instead of digital film-making. This will probably be the last mainstream film to be shot using films.

The team headed by Raja has completed the shooting of the film and the post production work is going on at a rapid pace.

The film's audio composed by 'Hiphop Tamizha' Aadhi is all set to release on July 15 and plans are on to release the film in the month of August.
