Jhummandi Nadham

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

K.Raghavendra Rao, the veteran legendary director is coming to commercial terms with cinema after making religious movies. He's producing a trademark Raghavendra Rao picture for Lakshmi Prasanna Movies, with Manoj and Tapsee as hero and heroine.

Here's a sneak peek about the movie for IndiaGlitz readers. `Jhummandi Nadham' is the story of two young people. Obviously the hero and the heroine. The heroine is an American born Telugu girl. Even though born in USA, she's brought up in the usual traditional way. She has been taught all the traditions that the normal Telugu girl back in India knows. She loves her parents so much. So in order to reciprocate the love for them and for the Telugu culture, she decides to fly to India, to make a documentary on Telugu music and culture and gift the documentary to her parents. She arrives in India and is under the guardianship of Mohan Babu, her father's best friend, who will take care of her during her stay in India.

Now that she's here for her documentary, the heroine gets in touch with an aspiring singer (the hero), who is a great fan of SP Balasubramaniam. She strikes a business deal with the hero to assist her in getting valuable inputs for her musical documentary. The result of the business deal will help the hero in his endeavours in buying music instruments, etc.

What started as a business deal ends up as love? How does the lead pair proceed and how the documentary is made, forms the screenplay with enough commercial twists and turns. The movie has nine songs that are composed by MM Keeravani. So it is a musically rich movie, no doubt!

`Jhummandi Nadham' has been shot in most parts of Andhra Pradesh. The camera is handled by Gopal Reddy, who has shown beautiful locations before. The movie also has a wedding song, so it can be assumed that the movie has to offer a lot of entertainment for the entire family. K Raghavendra Rao, M M Keeravani, Gopal Reddy behind the lens and others, it is a hit combination, so don't miss this movie!
