During the shoot of 'Velayudham', it was Ilayathalapathy Vijay's parting gift to the associate directors that he'd enact his script. And thus was conceived 'Jilla' by director Nesan. The film is based in the temple town Madurai and we hear that most part of the film is to be shot in a majestic set that has been erected to resemble a traditional south Indian house. The story is family based, as we are informed, but the team, however, decides to draw a line there, keeping the rest of the outlook on the movie a secret. The team had a photoshoot, which was kept under wraps, in a leading studio in Chennai, with the lead pair - Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal - posing for the camera. Having had a satisfying outcome, the team has decided to go on the floors from May 13th, in Madurai, with most of the cast crew being canned, including Kajal and Mohanlal. Vijay, however, will join them only later, by June 3rd, when they would have shifted to Chennai screen set up, after about half a month of shooting in the temple town. Meanwhile, taking a sneak peek into the film, we also managed to find out that Vijay's screen name is proposed to be Shakthi. The film is produced by RB Chowdary and music for 'Jilla' is scored by Imman. The cast crew also includes Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, Nivedita Thomas and Mahat. The film is expected to shoot at a rapid pace.
