John convicted for brief imprisonment

It happened in April 2006, when this young hunk had rammed his bike into a cycle, knocking down two youngsters. But then, instead of fleeing from the spot he immediately rushed the two victims to hospital. This has been the case of our B-town celebrity John Abraham.

And now recently, after four years he was accused of reckless driving, the actor is sentenced to 15 days’ simple imprisonment by a magistrate’s court. However he was granted bail against a surety of Rs 1,500.

John was accompanied by his lawyer Robin Periera on Thursday, while Metropolitan magistrate S V Kulkarni governed over the case.

The accident happened on 8th of April ’06 when John’s bike Yamaha Hayabusa rammed into cycle carrying Shyam Kasbe (22) and Tanmay Majhi (19). In spite being hurt himself, John rushed the two to Bhabha Hospital. Considering this factor, the actor was sentenced to 15 days’ imprisonment but was granted bail after he moved a bail application. Along with surety, he was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 to Majhi. Meanwhile Kasbe died of tuberculosis couple of years after the accident.
