The happy man in the profession of sculpture, painting, music, photography, consultant for culture, puppeteer facilitator etc John Devaraj has accepted a new challenge in his long career. He has produced and directed a feature film on atrocities on children in his ‘Ananda’.

Making good research utilizing the services of 500 children he is touching upon the 20 children problem in his feature film for ‘Born Free Art School’.

On the 13 crore bonded child laborers in this universe John Devaraj has focused to make an eye opener. In the guerilla style he has shot with reality in tact in the film. There is a focus on the Gandhian principle and questions whether we need ‘War or Peace’ – ‘Gun or Pen’.

John Devaraj in the past offered his expertise of art direction to television serial of late Shanker Nag ‘Malgudi Days’, Kubi Mathu Iyyala, Mane, Muthina Hara, Karakeya Kuri, Hagalu Vesha, Nakkala Rajakumari of Prema Karanth. John Devaraj has also made several documentary films. The 57 minutes ‘The Writing on the Wall’ received special mention in the International Documentary Film festival in Trivandrum.

John Devaraj key specialization is in sculpture and painting. He has created many wonders that got him recognition at the international level. He had held over 1000 exhibitions all over the world and some of them on the streets of South India.

‘Ananda’ children feature film with hard realities took part in Japan, Czech Republic, Netherland and Germany. He intends to dub this film to Urdu, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and a few other languages.

On November 14 children day John Devaraj has a special show for slum children inn Bangalore. At one of the slums in Jayanagar is having a special show at 6pm.
