Now, that the 'Avengers' have smashed their way through the global Box Office, all eyes are now set on what director Joss Whedon will do next. Post the Avengers sequel 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', Joss Whedon has shown interest in directing a 'Star Wars' film. However, he was quick to also mention that he wouldn't want the massive franchise to crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

During the publicity roundups for 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', Joss was asked what his next move would be and if he'd be interested in going to a galaxy far, far away.

'Right now I`d be interested in a long nap! But are you kidding? It`s Star Wars! It`s always going to be Star Wars!', replied Joss.

It must be noted that 'Avengers' and 'Star Wars' are both owned by Disney these days. 0

Whedon seemed less enthusiastic when asked about these two big franchises crossing over, but also explained saying, 'I rule out nothing. But I think it would not be my choice. You have two enormously strong, very textured universes. To say we have just the one would be to in some way dilute them. I think it makes sense to keep them in their own time, which I believe was long ago and not so close by.'

The writer-director further added saying that although it's great to see such properties being worked on so much interest, studios must also look ahead in coming up with more new original ideas.

Joss stated, 'It`s pretty exciting - I have to say. I saw the new trailer for 'Star Wars' as everyone else had. It`s good to be home.` But at the same time we`re all painfully aware that at some point we`ll be running on fumes. I love working with the characters I grew up reading about but we need to create the characters that other people are going to grow up reading about.'

So, after watching 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', do you feel Joss is the right man for getting the 'Star Wars' gig? Sound off in the comments below!
