Isaignanani Ilaiayraja has drawn the ire of Journalists and assocations representing Journalists for his harsh reactions for a TV Channel reporter inquiry about his stand on Beep Song` issue, in an event held in Chennai on Thursday.

Ilaiyaraja lost his cool when a reporter asked his stand on Beep song issue when he was addressing Press and Media persons about the Thanks Giving event for volunteers who involved themselves in relief and rescue activities in the rain-affected Chennai, yesterday.

In the video which went viral, Raja could be heard asking the Journalist whether he possesses common sense for asking such an inappropriate question.

Chennai Union of Journalists, a reputed Journalist organisation has announced a public demonstration to condemn Raja`s comments insulting the journalist.

The Press release from the Union says, "Ilaiyaraja should have actually expressed regret about Beep song that has portrayed women in a poor manner. But he has verbally abused the reporter who asked a question about that. This shows the real face of Ilaiyaraja. We have decided to conduct a Public Demonstration condemning the act of Ilaiyaraja which is against the freedom of Press."

Many other individual journalist and journalist associations have been condemning Ilaiyaraja`s way of handling the question from a young journalist.

But general people in Social media are divided about the entire issue. While many have out rightly criticized the septuagenarian composer`s angry outburst, a large section of people have taken his side and condemn the reporter for asking an inappropriate question to a senior person at an altogether different occasion.
