Kaanchi
After four years B-Town's Showman Subhash Ghai comes with his much awaited directorial `Kaanchi' - a musical thriller love story, bannered under his production house, Mukta Arts Ltd.
After Meenakshi Sheshadri, Madhuri Dixit, Manisha Koirala, Mahima Chowdhary and Isha Shravani the eminent filmmaker has turned out to be the launch pad for yet another new actress, Misti - his sixth heroine for the tinsel town with `Kaanchi'. Karthik Tiwari of `Pyaar Ka Panchnama' fame is the hero while Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakrovarthy are in prominent roles, who play the power in money and politics - along with Rishabh Sinha and Chandan Roy Sanyal.
Music is by Ismail Darbar, Salim and Suleiman.
`Kaanchi', also written by Subhash Ghai, is the story of the inner power of a woman who represents millions of suppressed youth against unjust in the country. It's a dramatic journey of the 18 year old Kaanchi from small village to metro city from innocence to realization; evolution followed by a revolution, which wakes up, and inspires today youth against corruption of power. "It's entertaining film with a deep message behind it", according to Ghai.
`Kaanchi' hits the big screens on 24 April 2014.
