Many of us know that it was Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj who was supposed to play Azhagar in 'Subramanyapuram', but the character later landed on Jai's lap. Now we have one more similar story about this 'Sakkarakatti' actor.

Speaking at the music launch of 'Vaagai Sooda Va', the second film of 'Kalavani' director Sargunam, in Chennai Friday, veteran director and Shanthnoo's father K Bhagyaraj said his son was initially approached to play the lead in 'Kalavani'.

"But after some time, we were told that Vimal has replaced Shanthanu", said Bhagyaraj, who has played an important role in 'Vaagai Sooda Va'. "So I grabbed the offer when Sargunam came to me for Vaagai Sooda Va", he said.

A period film set in the 1960s, music for 'Vaagai Sooda Va' has been composed by newcomer Gibran. “His music is one of the highlights of the movie", Sargunam said and added. "The film has shaped up well thanks to support from the cast and crew'.
