After heavy duty roles in 'That Girl In Yellow Boots' and 'Shaitan', Kalki Koechelin is now being seen in a light hearted movie (My Friend Pinto) for the first time. The young woman insists though that even though this Sanjay Leela Bhansali production is a comedy, it doesn't take the slapstick route, as prevalent in films like 'Double Dhamaal' or recently released 'Rascals'.

"See, movies that you have mentioned have their own genre. Well, good for them. However our film is like a very old fashioned comedy and we are happy to be in that space. 'My Friend Pinto' is inspired from these old films that were made by the likes of Charlie Chaplin or Raj Kapoor. In fact in this era I guess only Kundan Shah has attempted such genre."

However she is not averse to work in different styles of comedy if the need arises.

"Whether it is 'Rascals' or 'Double Dhamaal' or anything else that comes my way, if it is something that I have never done before, I would most definitely do that," she smiles, "I have nothing against such slapstick comedies provided the content is original."

Aaah dear, now this is where the trouble lies.
