Political parody in an extremely verbatim style is told in a lengthy screenplay that seems a forced one to the audience. What is commendable is with police and politics and a hapless young couple in the center stage the film `Kallara Santhe' has not given attention to violence and vulgarity. The cinematography and performance of lead and supporting roles save the virtual downfall. The film is not precise and loaded with dialogues that is most of the times very mediocre.

A post graduate in Master in Arts Somu (Yash) is a hard core Kannada guy. He has strong belief in the intelligence and he is not prepared to bank on luck. He wants to earn money without violence. He has no job to do and declining the system he hatches a plot to end his life. A local television channel finds this scoop of a youth on the verge of committing suicide. The news spreads like a wild fire and reaches top notch in the social life. The discussion that takes place later in the society demand that the government should hear to the plea of such a dejected youth. The situation reaches boiling point and in cabinet meeting Chief Minister discuss this issue. The youngster on the verge of suicide put forth six demands all in favor of poor and down trodden. The narration is made in a flash back technique. In this flash back comes Roopa the trusted lady love of Somu who lives with him.

Yash has done a fine job. The role has variety for this talented actor. He shows his ability and dialogues has come to his help. Equally good is the beautiful Haripriya. She is the screen stealer of this film. Rangayana Raghu, Shobaraj, Kishore have roles sans their image. They have done pretty well. Baby Nischitha is so cute and good in performance.

V Manohar scored three lovely tunes - Bannadha Thagadina Thutturi..Kaledhu Hodha Khali Puta..Kapadi Kapadi are worth hearing again. Sundarnath Suvarna camera work is splendid. In the song Kaledhu Hodha..the nature and mist background he has captured is of high standard.

This is a passable film in parts!
