Ever since Kamal Haasan announced that he will start shooting for his new film 'Sabaash Naidu' in Los Angeles, USA from May 14, there has been rumors spreading haywire about his decision to elect in vote. Many reports claim that Kamal will not vote in the upcoming Tamil Nadu State Assembly Elections to be held on May 16.

What exactly Kamal said for a question on this in today's press meet is something different. While he said that he will not be in town on Election day, listening to the full conversation we could conclude that he did not entirely rule out voting in the election.

Kamal recounted that his vote was cast by someone else in the last election and jocularly stated the same may happen this time. On a serious note he said his name was not included in the list but this time his friends in the Election department are working towards adding his name.

The legendary star stated that voting is his duty and he will try to workout the schedules accordingly to come and cast his vote.

Meanwhile the Tamil Nadu Election Commission CEO has been requesting Kamal Haasan through media and social media to exercise his franchise without fail as he is a role model to everyone. The screen shot of the voter's list in which Kamal's name has been included has been released by Election Commission CEO's official Twitter handle.

Kamal has always been a staunch believer of democracy. He has never evaded his duty as a citizen of India and we hope he upholds the same in the coming election also.
