In a surprising turn up of events, Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam was postponed yesterday to the last week of January. The film which was widely expected to release tomorrow was pushed back to the 25th of January in stark contrast to the original plans of release. On the event, Kamal Haasan turned out to speak to the press and revealed important information about his decision.

Kamal outlined the fact that the change in release date was due to personal reasons and for his comfort rather than a cause of external pressure from the industry. He stated that Vishwaroopam was his own product and business and that he would not succumb to anyone who attempts to get in the way. Kamal also stated that he was going to issue notices to 13 individuals for attempting to ban Vishwaroopam's DTH release. Regarding the release date, he stated that the film will be coming out on a convenient date so that the movie can be released together in all languages.

It looks like we will indeed be seeing a DTH release for the film. It's just a matter of when now, and we expect the star to reach out again with another announcement.
