The place was Sathyam Cinema and a galaxy of film personalities got together for the audio release of the film 'Jeyam Kondaan'. The man of the moment Kamal Haasan was there and so was Mani Ratnam. The stars of the film Vinay, Bhavana and Lekha Washington were excited about the event. Hope of a tremendous success was writ large on their faces.

Kamal Haasan spoke of corporates entering the film industry and called it a good sign if used properly. 'The various associations of Tamil cinema should change the rules and regulations in such a way that their entry only benefits the industry', he added.

Ace director Mani Ratnam spoke in the same fashion many characters in his films do. He spoke in short sentences and finished off the speech quickly. "I was called for the launch of the film….I am here for the audio launch….I hope to be here for the 100 days function". Off he went.

Clearly shy and shaken in Kamal Haasan's presence, Jeyam Ravi spoke of him being part of the 'Aalavandhan' team though Kamal didn't know of it. He was assisting director Suresh Krishna for that project.

Former state minister R. M. Veerappan, actor and politician Sarath Kumar, Kalaipuli Shekaran and many others took part in the function.

The film is directed by a former assistant of Mani Ratnam, Kannan and is produced by Satya Jyothi Films T G Thyagarajan.
