Kamal Hassan, also known as Kalaignani owing to his die-hard passion and profound knowledge about cinema, will be bestowed with a rare honor. FICCI at their annual global convention, FRAMES, recognizes outstanding personalities from the entertainment arena and honors them with awards every year. This year, it is our very own Kamal Hassan, who will be walking away with the honors.

Usually, it is the Honorable Information and Broadcasting Minister or a Chief dignitary who gives away the award during the convention. Prominent personalities who have received this award include Latha Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Dharmendra, Waheeda Rahman and Dr Vyjayanthimala Bali.

The term ‘living legend’ is self-explanatory. There are very few personalities that have become legends in their own lifetime. Individuals rarely become icons and behind every icon, there is a success story marked with struggles, sweat and determination. It is only natural then, that Kamal Hassan, who has captivated audiences not just at the regional or national level but also on an international level, has been chosen to get this award this year.

This award will be presented by the Honorable Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Mr Priyaranjan Das Munshi, at Mumbai on 28 March.

We at indiaglitz congratulate Padmashree Dr Kamal Hassan at this juncture and feel proud that he is a son of our soil. We wish him continued successes and more honors at every step of the way.
