One of the best kept secrets of Kamal Haasan's magnum opus 'Viswaroopam' is out. That the Ulaga Nayagan is playing the role of an Afghan. A grand set replicating Afghanistan was erected in Chennai where some crucial scenes involving Kamal were shot.

Sayed Jahid Shah Banoori, an Afghan student who is playing a role in 'Viswaroopam', is awestruck with the way Kamal recreated Afghanistan in Chennai and mastered Pashto, the language used by the natives in Afghanistan. "He is simply amazing," the youngster says.

"One day, Kamal asked me to show him how we would perform Namaaz. I did it just once and Kamal performed it exactly the same way the next time," he says, adding that scenes about the Talibans and the US forces entering into Afghanistan were shot in Chennai.

Directed by Kamal himself, 'Viswaroopam' is a bilingual simultaneously made in Tamil and Hindi. Touted to be an action thriller, Kamal is said to be playing more than one role in this movie. His younger daughter Akshara Haasan is helping him on the sets.
