The first look poster of Kamal Haasan's Cheektati Rajyam has been released on Sunday in Hyderabad at a press conference. The film has Trisha playing the female lead and has Prakash Raj and Uma Riaz Khan in crucial roles. The film is directed by Rajesh M Selva and will be made in Telugu as well.

Ghibran is scoring the music. The film is said to be an action thriller. In the meantime, the director of the film, posted on his micro-blogging page, "#THOONGAAVANAM, Feeling grateful, Confident & Determined...!!! thanks to all for the wishes.."

Kamal Haasan said, "During my Uttama Villain promotions, many people asked me when am I going to do a straight Telugu film. Perhaps, they might have thought I'll not do but I have fulfilled my promise with this film. Rajesh was working as an Assistant Director in my production for the past seven years and I'm introducing him as a Director with this film. I also asked Abburi Ravi to work on the dialogues within four weeks. I'm very impressed with Sanu John Varughese's work in Uttama Villain," adding, "The dynamics of cinema is changing and what one likes in a film, others may not like it. So film is all about perception but I'm sure this film will make the glue to the screens."

Prakash Raj said, "Kamal Haasan is a great actor and when he came to me with this subject I said people will be elated if you do a straight Telugu film. He also thought about it and gave the green signal and that's how the film started in Telugu."

The film's director Rajesh M Selva says, "I joined Kamal sir's production in 2008 as third assistant director . Kamal sir made me make my directorial debut and directing like him in my first film is a blessing. I hope I would reach Kamal sir's expectations."

"It's an honor to work with Kamal sir and I'm doing a unique role in this film," said Trisha.
