Not just for Simbu Devan, but the word ‘Kampaks’ has become a slogan among the cast and crew of ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’. “Kampaks means ‘I will kill you’ in cowboys lingo”, says Simbu Devan, clearing the air.

Happy about presenting a cowboy film to Tamil cinema after a long gap, he says, “it was three decades ago Tamil Nadu last saw a cowboy movie. An avid reader of comics since childhood, I was fascinated about the lifestyle of cowboys,” he says.

Claiming they have worked hard to bring authenticity on screen, Simbu Devan thanks producer Kalpathi S Agoram for that. “His support was something extraordinary. Never had he bothered about budget. His only concern is that the film should be made without any compromise.”

Heaping laurels on Larencce Raghavendra, Simbu Devan says, “The audience can get to watch the comical side of Lawrence in ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’. The actor in him has come out in full vigour. Equally supportive are Padmapriya, Lakshmi Rai and Sandhya.”
