Kancheepurathe Kalyaanam

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Malayalam Comments

After the success of movies like `Thenkashi Pattanam', and `Sundhara Purushan', superstar Suresh Gopi believed that he really has opened up another forte in his acting styles. His judgements in hilarious takes had often back lashed with some other movies like `Kichamani MBA' and `Hailessa', turning into big flops, but the actor is still confident on delivering quality comedy movies that will entertain you.

The actor who is presently on a signing spree has engaged in another humour filled movie, `Kancheepurathe Kalayaanam' without his regular action takes and bombastic dialogues. Teaming up this time with Mukesh, one of the best timers in rendering comedy in Mollywood, `Kancheepuarathe Kalyaanam' is the debut venture of two former associates of Priyadashan - Fazil and Jayakrishanan.

The movie is set in the town of Kancheepuram. Varadaraja Mudaliar is the big brother of Devanayaki-the owner of famous Meenakshi silks at Kancheepuram. The marriage between Menaakshi - Devanayaki's only daughter and Saravanan-Mudaliar's son, is scheduled to happen in a month's time. The big family is all set to make it a grand affair. And for that, they bring in an event management group, based in Kerala. Achuthan Kutty and Najeeb are the proprietors of two such groups, who arrive at Kancheepuram to add splendour to   the marriage function.

Both of them were thick friends before, when they together started the event management group. But later, their friendship turned into bitter enmity, following a misdeed from Najeeb. Anyhow Najeeb and Acuthan Kutty are here to take their share of big revenue, offered by the big textile group. The movie tells the humor filled happenings between these two foes and their managers - P M Premachandran and C M Premachandran, who are engaged in competition in management activity, which leads to developments that they hardly foresee.

Mukesh is Najeeb while Suresh Gopi is Achuthan Kuttty in the movie. Jagathy Sreekumar plays the role of Varadaraja Mudaliar while Nandakishore is saravanan. Muktha appear once again as the heroine to Suresh Gopi, playing the role of Meenakshi. Also in the cast are Jagadheesh, Suraaj Venjaaramoodu, Harishree Askohan, Seenath, Surabhi, Innocnet, Rajmohan Unnithan and Ratheesh Pallat.

Scripted by J. Pallaseery, the movie will feature songs written by Rajeev Aalunkal and Vayalar Sharth, set to music by M Jayachandran. Sanjeev Sgankar cranks the camera while Manoj is in charge of editing. Produced by Soman Pallat in the banner of Jyothirgamaya, the movie will reach theatres in the month of May.
