Kannada Film Issue in Council

As the strength of nominated MLC's from Kannada cinema fraternity in Karnataka legislative council from different parties has increased to four with two ministers Umasri and Dr Ambarish sitting at legislative Assembly the hopes are bright on several issues that dog the Kannada cinema industry.

Dr Jayamala is the new addition in legislative council from Congress I. Already Jaggesh, Thara are in the council from BJP nomination. Sandesh Nagaraj noted producer is from JDS and goldsmith Sharavana also connected to some extent to Kannada cinema industry is MLC of a few days in the upper house.

On Friday the different issues of Kannada cinema industry came up for discussion. It was Thara Anuradha raised the issue of ticket price in Multiplex theatres. Without bothering the parties all other cinema connected joined for the discussion to arrive at a feasible ticket price for common man.

While Thara discussed on the availability of multiplex theatres, Jaggesh raised his voice on the availability of multiplex screens for Kannada films and also attacked on the ticket price. The policies of other states are interesting Jaggesh pointed. For the poor man Rs.10 is charged for front rows in multiplex screens. While the single screens in other places have ticket price from Rs.50 to 70. The ticket price is Rs.125 to 250. This should be immediately looked in to Jaggesh said.

Roshan Baig information minister promised to discuss the issue with Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah.
