Remake rights of Tamil movies are always a hot cake for film makers from Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. And if they find a film with a novel story idea and enough heroism you will find them land in Chennai almost the second day. In Bollywood the most successful films in recent times ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Wanted’ are remakes of Tamil films. In Kannada and Telugu half the films are remakes of Tamil.

The film now in demand is the recent Karan starrer 'Kanagavel Kakka'. The film has a novel storyline and enough scope for a hero to do all his heroic acts in a convincing way. Tollywood, and Bollywood all came running and the first deal was struck for Sandalwood.

Director Kavinbala will remake the film in Kannada with Puneeth Rajkumar. Puneeth Rakumar who recently saw the Tamil film was floored instantly and immediately called Kavinbala and made him the director f the Kannada version. Anushka will be the heroine.

Kavinbala says other languages will soon follow. Samuthirakani's ‘Naadodigal’ also faced a similar demand and put Samuthirakani on top in all languages.
