Here is the big news of the week. 'Dangerous Ishq' is turning out to be much more than just a comeback film of Karisma Kapoor. There are much bigger plans for the film and it has just been revealed that Karisma would be walking the red carpet at Cannes. This Vikram Bhatt directed film would be showcased and entered into the competition at the coveted film festival which would be held during 16th to 27th May.

"The film has shaped up brilliantly and now the makers are confident enough to take the film to an international platform," informs a source, "Everyone around Karisma feels that 'Dangerous Ishq' deserves to be not just screened at Cannes but also compete with other international films. Plans are already been put into place for the film's showcase there."

Of late there have been quite a few Bollywood films that have made their presence felt in Cannes while Hindi film celebrities have often jet hopped to the city for this annual event. While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor are pretty much regulars at Cannes, Kareena Kapoor missed the event last year due to her hectic shooting schedule. However sis Karisma is now expected to make up for the miss by attending the festival for 'Dangerous Ishq'.

"Though it was earlier being contemplated that 'Dangerous Ishq' would be premiered at Cannes, just like Kareena's 'Omkara' had in 2006, the plans were dropped since the film's release in India would then have been extremely close to the IPL finals. The makers didn't want to take any risk and hence decided to bring it on 11th May itself," the source continues, "However it has made it to the competition and would now be showcased in Cannes after its worldwide release."

When contacted, Vikram Bhatt confirmed plans for 'Dangerous Ishq' being taken to Cannes.
