For a large part of 2015 Actor Karthi was busy campaigning and other election related works for the Nadigar Sangam elections which finally resulted in the sweeping victory of the team he represented.

Now the young actor will do his bit for the election which will affect the entire population of Tamil Nadu state. The Nadigar Sangam Treasurer has been roped in by the State Election Commission to create awareness among the public to get registered in the electoral and vote in the impending State Assembly elections., 2016. '

The 'Komban' actor has shot for an awareness video which will be released within a fortnight from now.

Other celebrities who have been selected for the same purpose are cricketers Ravichandran Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik and Squash champion Deepika Pallikal.

The election commission CEO has also requested the celebrities to follow their Twitter handle @TNElectionsCEO and retweet their tweets to ensure wider reach and more public engagement.
